Using a 2:1 ratio of sugar to alcohol-based cannabis tincture can result in a very potent infused sugar, so it's important to use caution when dosing and consuming. Here's how to infuse granulated sugar with a 2:1 ratio of sugar to alcohol-based tincture:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup alcohol-based cannabis tincture
  • Glass bowl or pie pan.

Instructions:

  1. Begin by placing the granulated sugar in a clean, dry glass bowl or pie pan.
  2. Carefully add the cannabis tincture to the bowl or pan of sugar, making sure to measure out exactly 1 cup of the tincture.
  3. Once the tincture has been added, stir the sugar to make sure that the tincture saturates all the sugar.
  4. Set up a fan so that it blows air over the surface of the sugar. This will help to evaporate the alcohol from the tincture and leave behind the infused sugar. This process can take anywhere from 3 hours to a couple days depending on the humidity levels in your area. CAUTION: Please be sure to keep the container away from children and pets.  If you do not have a fan you can always choose to open air dry but it will take quite a bit longer (a couple of days) before all the alcohol will evaporate.
  5. Allow the fan to run for several hours, or until the sugar is completely dry and no longer sticky. I recommend stirring occasionally (every couple of hours) in order to encourage drying throughout the entire container.  Be sure to keep the sugar away from any open flames or heat sources, as alcohol fumes can be highly flammable.
  6. Once completely dry I recommend keeping the sugar in a sealed container such as a glass jar or tupperware container.
  7. Once the infused sugar is dry, it can be used in a variety of recipes, such as baked goods, coffee, tea, or anything else that calls for sugar.
  8. You can even make a simple syrup with your infused sugar!

Keep in mind that using a fan to evaporate the alcohol from the tincture can be a bit more time-consuming than other methods, but it can be a good option if you want to avoid using heat or if you don't have access to an oven or dehydrator. Also, make sure to clearly label the infused sugar and store it out of reach of children and pets.
