Here is a recipe for making cannabis tincture using cannabis and grain alcohol:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of high-proof (at least 151 proof) grain alcohol
- 7-10 grams of decarboxylated cannabis (ground or chopped finely)
Instructions:
- Begin by decarboxylating your cannabis in the oven. Check out this guide on decarboxylation.
- Once your cannabis is decarboxylated and cooled, place it in a clean, dry glass jar.
- Pour one cup of grain alcohol over the cannabis until it is fully submerged in the alcohol.
- Close the jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake it well for a few minutes.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place, and shake it once a day for 2-4 weeks, depending on how potent you want your tincture to be. The longer you let it sit, the stronger it will be.
- After 2-4 weeks, strain the tincture through a cheesecloth or fine-mesh strainer into a clean, dry glass jar or bottle. Make sure to squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the cannabis.
- Store the tincture in a cool, dark place. It can be used directly under the tongue, added to food or drink, or used topically.
Remember to start with a small dose and wait at least an hour before consuming more, as tinctures can be very potent. Also, be sure to label the tincture clearly and store it out of reach of children and pets.
